Strasburg Rail Road Hosts The Rolling Antique Auto Show & Run

Be part of reliving automotive history as the Strasburg Rail Road hosts The Rolling Antique Auto Show & Runon July 24, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Known for its locomotives and passenger cars, the Strasburg Rail Road will spotlight another mode of transportation, transforming the railroad into an interactive antique auto show, featuring cars on display and in action, as they race alongside Strasburg Rail Road’s mighty steam train.

From Stanley Steamers to Plymouths and Cadillacs, more than 20 cars dating back to 1918 will be rolling around Strasburg Rail Road for visitors to explore and admire. Unlike other shows where the cars are simply for viewing, the Rolling Antique Auto Show & Run gives passengers the chance to see the cars in motion and hear stories of days-gone-by as the car owners tell tales of their favorite ride.

From the train, watch the antique autos take to the field, racing alongside the massive engine from Esbenshade Road to the Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. See the historic cars and their owners reenact typical scenes from the past as they stop along the tracks at a campsite and picnic at Groff’s Grove.
