The world-renowned Philadelphia Mummers Parade will kick off 2013 on New Year’s Day beginning at 10 a.m. at Broad and Washington Ave. Life-long fans, first-timers, local residents, and tourists are invited to enjoy the parade from five special performance zones as more than 10,000 vibrantly dressed Mummers strut through clouds of confetti and glitter toward City Hall. For an exclusive view of each division’s final performance, the enhanced Grand Stand entertainment zone on JFK Boulevard between 15th and 16th Streets will feature more than 1,500 ticketed bleacher seats.

For families interested in indoor entertainment on New Year’s Day, the Fancy Brigade Finale shows at noon and 5 p.m. in the Pennsylvania Convention Center are convenient and comfortable opportunities to enjoy the Mummers festivities. Dynamic, choreographed performances will stun the crowd with heart-pounding music and glowing costumes in front of handmade backdrops that soar 24-feet high.
