The Philadelphia Orchestra, which pioneered combining symphonic music with film in Disney’s Fantasia, performs Pixar in Concert, live music scores from the studio’s beloved animated features combined with dazzling film clips from all 14 Pixar hits. The program offers the unique experience of the Orchestra performing the vibrant scores to montages of Pixar films, which have given audiences of all ages some of the most touching and memorable moments in movie history, in concert at the family-friendly times of 7 PM on Friday, July 25, and 2 PM Saturday, July 26, in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center.

The 14 films that Pixar Animation Studios has produced have changed the way animation is looked at on the big screen. One of the distinguishing aspects of the Pixar films is serious and respectful attention to music and its role in that storytelling. All 14 scores have been written by just four composers and, collectively, this music has won three Academy Awards, received 10 additional Oscar nominations, and won 10 Grammy Awards.
