The party celebrates music, art, dance, and drama and will include exciting performances and exhibits from Darlington’s professional teaching artists, plus a collaborative community art project. Free refreshments will also be provided.

The party kicks off with a Teaching Artist Recital, featuring a variety of classical and contemporary pieces that range from a Brahms waltz to variations on a theme from Disney’s Frozen. Performers include Emily Ackin (dance), David Brown (piano), Mary Cappillino (trumpet), Kevin Cope (guitar), Jackie Dunleavy (soprano), Rob Green (saxophone), Bette Halberg (piano), Pat Jordan (drama), Ben Kapilow (piano), Lingchin Liao (violin), Sally Marsh (dance), Ethel Olsen (piano), Barbara Prugh (trumpet), Silvanio Reis (piano), and Larry Van Stone (guitar).

In-between performances, families can browse the Teaching Artist Gallery featuring selections by Annette Alessi, Rebecca D’Angeli, Anne Dempsey, Pat Jordan, Jen Loyle, Erika Matyok, Olga Nielsen, Terry Newitt, Jessica Silverberg, and Kimberly Shelton. Guests are invited to explore Darlington’s beautiful facilities, meet teaching artists, enjoy free food and drink, and be a part of the center’s collaborative community art project (appropriate for all ages and skill levels). Teachers will help guide participants through creating individual pieces that will be assembled and unveiled as the evening’s finale.
