World Rhythms at Media’s 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll


The Media Arts Council (M.A.C.) will host its 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll on November 14in downtown Media, featuring world music and worldly paintings among other colorful attractions.

This month’s Main Event is Trio Lococó, performing at the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union at 7pm. Trio Lococó performs World Music with a Middle Eastern flair, enhanced with Flamenco guitar work and song.

The featured artist this month is Sandy Stevenson whose work will be on display at Sweets ‘n Stuff. This award-winning artist paints the sea, coastlines and deserts she encounters in her travels.
Also this month, the Tango Hop is now in a new location, Sangha Space, at 116 W. Baltimore Ave, offering Argentine Tango workshops throughout the day, followed by a free Tango Jam and free mini Tango lesson at 9pm.

Local musicians including Square Wheels, Michelle Garza, and others will also perform a holiday preview show at the 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll, promoting their CD of seasonal songs, “Peace on Your Way,” which benefits the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.

This month’s 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll includes 45 participating businesses on and around State Street. Fourteen locations feature artwork, including paper creations, fine art and craft, photography, oil paintings, student artwork, jewelry and acrylics. Music at 15 locations includes rock bands, classical guitar, hammered dulcimer, singer songwriters, violin, folk and blues. Visitors can also enjoy lapidary demonstrations, Reiki, and gingerbread decorating. This is a free, family-friendly event with something for everyone to enjoy.
