Registration Now Open for Summer Art Programs for Children at the Brandywine River Museum



This summer, the Brandywine River Museum offers special programs for children, featuring thematic guided tours followed by hands-on art projects.


Museum Explorer Mornings are designed for children ages 3 to 10 accompanied by an adult. The programs take place on Thursdays, with two sessions each day, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants may sign up for one or all five programs. The programs are free for members and included in Museum admission.  The days and themes include:   

July 5 - Red, White and Blue
July 12 - Summer Sketchers 
July 19 - Mix and Match Animals
July 26 - Treasure Tales
August 2 - What's My Line? 

This year, the  Advanced Explorers program will have the theme of "Brandywine Inside and Out," and run on three consecutive days, July 30 through August 1.  The program includes guided tours of the Museum's renowned collection of American art and illustration, followed by art projects inspired by landscape art, the outdoor river environment and native plant gardens.  The program takes place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day and is designed for children ages 9 and older. The cost is $20 for members and $30 for non-members.

The Brandywine River Museum is located on U.S. Route 1 in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. The museum is open daily, except Christmas Day, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. As of June 1st, admission is $12 for adults; $8 for seniors, $6 for students and children ages 6 to 12; and free for members and children under six.
