Sunday, September 23 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) is hosting its 8th Annual Appetite for Awareness, a gluten-free food festival that pairs physicians and chefs to serve gluten-free dishes from the region’s top restaurants. The event takes place on September 23 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Historic Strawbridge Building in Philadelphia.

Prominent Philadelphia-area restaurants including Melograno, Alma de Cuba, El Rey, Rouge and Spiga will participate in the celiac and foodie-friendly “Gluten-Free Cooking Spree.” Additionally, Appetite for Awareness will feature chef demos; a Children’s Pavilion with kid-friendly, gluten-free food and family activities; a Gluten-Free Beer Garden with flat-screen TVs to watch the Eagles vs. the Cardinals; and the chance to enter to win a one-year Mercedes-Benz lease.

Early Bird registration and discounted tickets are available online now through September 22, and full-price tickets can be purchased at the door. Advanced tickets are $20 for children, $25 for students, $50 for adults and $125 for a family of four. Tickets include unlimited gluten-free food and drink, giveaways and a reusable shopping bag.
