Community Arts Center’s Tie-Dye Music Festival

Community Arts Center’s Tie-Dye Music Festival
Saturday, July 19th
2 – 7 p.m

After a very successful debut last summer, Community Arts Center, 414 Plush Mill Road, Wallingford, PA, is proud to bring back their Tie-Dye Music Festival. The second annual,

free, family event, sponsored by Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, takes place on Saturday, July 19th 2 – 7 p.m. on the side lawn of the CAC. Providing a full day of concerts featuring Jimmy Shoe & the Shine, Manatawny Creek Ramblers, Herb Mondros, Last Chance and SwUKEstra, tie-dye activities, vendors, raffles, food, and feel good summer vibes; the Tie-Dye Music Festival unites art, music and the community.

The all-weather event, held on the side lawn of the Arts Center or inside the Duke Gallery if it rains, is a celebration of the care-free days of summer and the creative and colorful process of tie-dying.

Attendees may purchase event t-shirts or onesies for $10 or aprons for $15 and tie-dye them themselves for no additional charge or people may bring up to 2 items of their own to tie-dye for a $5 charge. CAC staff and expert tie-dye artist Bob Deane will be on hand to help participants with the tie-dye process and with achieving the desired design and color of their finished products.

Throughout the day, five local bands, each with their own unique sound, will entertain festival-goers. Music includes reggae and ska from Media’s own, Jimmy Shoe & the Shine, traditional bluegrass by Manatawny Creek Ramblers, carefully selected acoustic covers by Herb Mondros, folk- roots fusion and bluegrass by Last Chance, and the sounds of the Swarthmore Ukulele Orchestra with SwUKEstra.

No music festival would be complete without food so CAC volunteers will sell hot dogs,

hamburgers, veggie burgers, water ice, soft pretzels, drinks, and homemade pizza made in the CAC’s newly constructed cob oven. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own food and beverages.

The Tie-Dye Music Festival is a rain or shine event. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs/blankets if outside. If inside, chairs will be provided. Additional parking provided by Pendle Hill, next door to the CAC, at 338 Plush Mill Rd.
