(Updated 10/8)

What to do this weekend with your family? Here is a list of things you can enjoy with your family this weekend:

Our annual fall family day celebrates the season with the chance to discover ‘wheel big’ trucks, tractors, and farm equipment needed both now and in the days of H. F. du Pont to operate a big country estate like Winterthur.
Join us this year for a special truck parade and enjoy picnicking in the garden along the parade route. Bring your own picnic or purchase food and drinks on-site and go explore the garden on your own.

Thomas the Tank Engine -- the famous steam locomotive from the Island of Sodor -- will pull your 45-minute excursion ride (4.5 miles east and 4.5 miles returning west on the same track) through the beautiful Lancaster County countryside. This is the full 45-minute train ride to Paradise, Pennsylvania pulled by the fully operational steam Thomas the Tank Engine.

Due to the ongoing Pandemic, only the corn maze, sunflower field and pumpkin picking is open to the general public. This includes a Hayride to the Corn Maze and back to the parking lot. Our picnic areas, along with other activities are available for Birthday parties, family reunions and other gatherings. Parties include a jump on the pillow bounce, pallet maze, tractor and truck playground and corn cannons. But the fun doesn’t end there! Take a private hayride down to our all-new 5 acre corn maze, and walk through the sunflower field. You can also pick pumpkins for an additional fee.

Visit the friendly Witch's House in the woods. She tells stories, jokes and gives all of the kids a Halloween treat! Mon thru Thurs the hayride ends at a campfire.  Fri, Sat or Sun no campfire will be provided.  Due to COVID we will not be offering marshmallows or cider.

For Saturdays and Sundays, individual tickets must be purchased in advance to limit capacity in response to COVID19 regulations. Stroll to the pumpkin patch, wander through the corn maze, take family photos, and visit the farm animals as part of your 2-hour $5 admission ticket. Bring your own wagon to carry pumpkins, fall harvest items, vegetables, and honey products which may be purchased during your visit. Visitors are expected to wear face masks and practice social distancing.

Every September, Peddler’s Village hosts a famous scarecrow display that brings visitors from around the world. For seven fun-filled weeks, scores of scarecrows grace the winding pathways of the sweeping, autumn-tinted Village property. Some are inspired by famous characters, some are humorous, some are meant to be scary – but all of them are carefully handmade and contributed by Philly-area residents and organizations

Pumpkinland is open from mid-September through early November and takes center stage at Linvilla Orchards. Larger than life figures and scarecrows illustrate the legends and lore of the harvest season, featuring local history and some of the many stories of pumpkins and apples.

Come in costume and celebrate silly, not-too-spooky fun at The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular at Sesame Place! The park will be transformed into a family-friendly Halloween haven and guests will enjoy trick-or-treating around the park, Halloween-themed shows, participating in our interactive Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt, pumpkin decorating, swinging, flying, and cruising on Count von Count-themed mechanical rides, and unique photo opportunities with everyone’s favorite furry friends dressed up in costume on their Halloween-themed floats!

Beginning in August and running for 13 weekends through October you’ll find festivities and excitement at their 35-acre village.  An extensive cast of costumed characters will take you back to medieval times as you encounter music, dancing, and a variety of special attractions.
