Fun Things To Do in Delaware County This Weekend For Families and Kids

A list of best things to do in Delaware County this weekend November 6th - 8th

What to do this weekend with your family? Here is a list of things you can enjoy with your family this weekend:

Friday, November 6th, 5 PM – 8 PM Come to our new monthly Food Truck Friday, now on FIRST FRIDAYS of each month (second Friday in January).

Extra Weekend, Extra Fun
We’re celebrating the end of fall and the beginning of the holidays with a bonus weekend of FUN at Hersheypark. Join us November 6-8 for extra thrills on your favorite rides and coasters including the all-new Candymonium.

On Saturday 11/7 Mr. Jason will be outside for a safe & socially distant story time! Registration is mandatory so we can keep the numbers low. Families must provide their own blankets to sit on and will maintain a 6-ft distance from others. Masks are required for ages 2+.
Mr. Jason will read a couple books and engage the kids in a couple songs, then offer a brown bag with crayons & a collection list for families to enjoy after story time to do at Lenni Park or elsewhere on their own!

Visit Springfield Mall's real-bearded Santa in Center Court to capture your Holiday Memories. To protect our shoppers, reservations are required to take a photo with Santa.

Visit Thomas and Friends one last time in 2020.  Be sure to reserve your tickets.

The wonder of the holiday season starts early at the Brandywine River Museum of Art this year! Beginning on October 31, 2020, visitors can enjoy “Holiday Magic at Brandywine” with the opening of the Brandywine Railroad—a holiday favorite since 1972. On view through January 10, 2021, this year’s seasonal offerings will also include the return of artist and composer Ann Wyeth McCoy’s dollhouse, which features six rooms filled with three-dozen dolls and hundreds of miniature objects that will delight visitors of all ages.

While slightly modified this year to provide a safe and socially distant experience, the Brandywine Railroad display will still have plenty of model trains, miniature details and the engaging elements that everyone loves—including interactive components operated by hands-free foot pedals. The iconic O-gauge display will feature trains running on a thousand feet of track through a small village, a drive-in movie theater and even a carnival. This year the Brandywine will also introduce two model train sets with layouts once owned by Nicky and Jamie Wyeth—sons of the renowned American artist, Andrew Wyeth.

On Sunday, November 8th, 11 AM take part in an exciting outdoor scavenger hunt in the courtyard and play other socially distant games.
Reservations (limited to 25) are required and children must be accompanied by a parent/adult.

Each fall, members of our Horticulture, Facilities, and Guest Services departments team up to achieve the not-so-small feat of creating this multi-level world in miniature—complete with a beautiful seasonally changing plant palette—which shines throughout our Autumn’s Colors and A Longwood Christmas seasons. We proudly showcase our collection of 31 locomotives, steam engines, diesel engines, and specialty engines—as well as the ever-popular Thomas the Tank Engine and many of his friends—as they rumble along nearly 500 feet of track amid textural foliage, flowering plants, and woody plants.

Come explore and make new memories with us. The Garden Railway operates during regular Gardens hours, weather permitting.

Pumpkinland at Linvilla (Last Weekend)

Pumpkinland is open from mid-September through early November and takes center stage at Linvilla Orchards. Larger than life figures and scarecrows illustrate the legends and lore of the harvest season, featuring local history and some of the many stories of pumpkins and apples.
