Did you know that colonial people experimented with science every day? From cooking to getting water from the well to dyeing their clothes, every day was Science Day. Join us on the farm for 18th-century science fun– see dyeing using plants from our garden; discover how baking is like chemistry; use simple machines to perform chores; learn about our animals, and more!



Join us on Saturday, September 3, for fireworks in honor of Labor Day. Free and open to the public. 

The fireworks will go off at approximately 8:30 pm. Join the fun at The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire  The Renaissance fair occurring over 13 weekends from early August through late October on the grounds of the Mount Hope Estate and Winery in Manheim, Pennsylvania. 



This month, we’re celebrating the ways that the Harlem Renaissance still influences life, art, and culture in Philadelphia today. Enjoy tap performances by the Lady Hoofers, find stories of jazz and poetry in our galleries and learn more with our fun family activities. Plus, you can visit our permanent collection AND visit our special exhibition, Isaac Julien: Once Again . . . (Statues Never Die), in its last weekend.


Free First Sundays at the Brandywine

The Museum will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with free admission.* See the exhibition Gatecrashers: The Rise of the Self-Taught Artist in America on its closing weekend.

Advance registration is required for free admission. Please note that this month's event will not feature family art activities.




On Sept. 3rd  more than 3,000 movie theaters would provide discounted movie tickets to the public. For each theater that participates on Sept. 3, tickets will be no more than $3 for each show regardless of what format it is in. AMC is offering a $5 fountain drink and popcorn combo meal. Meanwhile, Cinemark is dropping the prices for its medium ICEEs, medium fountain drinks, candy, and small popcorn to $3.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art guests can pay what they wish for admission every Friday evening and the first Sunday of the month. Reservations are required.
