The Caribbean-flavored version of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid” is presented by Upper Darby Summer Stage on August 5, 6 and 7

From the creators of “Ragtime” and the smash hit “Seussical,” Upper Darby Summer Stage presents “Once on This Island, Jr.” a captivating tale in which most every moment moves with a Caribbean beat and the spirit of island life. Based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid," the musical deals with the social issues of prejudice, class division, love and growth in a non-stop, ever pulsing and flowing performance.

With more mature themes and staging than the other children’s theater shows presented this season by Upper Darby Summer Stage, “Once on This Island, Jr.” is the kind of show that gets audiences in the mood for summer.
