Looking for a fun family event on Thanksgiving weekend that’s not all about shopping? Just a short distance from the madness at the mall is a Renaissance-Faire inspired event that has something for everyone in the whole family – The Gilded Festival. The weekend-long festival, fromNovember 29 to December 1, includes a Saturday jam-packed with unique events and activities to keep everyone entertained. On Saturday, November 30, activities get underway at 10am, at the DoubleTree Hotel Valley, in King of Prussia.

The Saturday-only ticket is $25 for an adult, and just $40 for a family pass that admits four. The period-themed activities of the day include songs and stand-up comedy from the acclaimed NYC singer/performer, Voltaire, a comedic stunt performance from World of Wyck, acrobatics, a steampunk science exhibition, juggling and stilt-walking shows, a period fashion show, a Nutcracker performance from the Valley Forge School of Dance, Steampunk storytime, history discussion panels, RPG gaming , craft workshops, dino egg hunt, Steampunk Hannukah party, costume competition, and a wide variety of live music performances, featuring everything from classical to Steampunk. The marketplace will showcase dozens of vendors offering handmade and artisanal products.
