What to do this weekend with your family? There is a wealth of activities available for families and kids. We invite you to explore our events calendar, which features a range of family-friendly activities and events to enjoy throughout the week, including weekends. We continually update our events calendar, so there's always something new and exciting to do! 



The Community Arts Center’s Tie Dye Music Festival July 18th from 4pm to 8pm.
Bring your refreshments, lawn chairs, and blankets to enjoy an evening of music on the side lawn at the Arts Center. Admission is free, as always!  Tie Dye Free with the purchase of an event T-shirt. 
You can also bring your own item to tie-dye for a $5 fee per item. Maximum 3 items per person. 





Get ready for a day filled with sunshine, fresh air, and the joy of harvesting your own fruits and vegetables straight from our fields. Pick-Your-Own offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, experience the thrill of picking your own produce, and create lasting memories with family and friends.



Excavations are conducted under the leadership of resident archaeologist Keith Doms with assistance from members of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology and volunteers from the community. Individuals and groups throughout the region volunteer one Saturday per month, assisting with excavations and artifact cleaning.



Free concerts in Rose Tree Park's scenic outdoor amphitheater have been a popular Delco tradition for more than four decades! Take in top-notch entertainment of all kinds, from Classical to Cajun, Motown to Broadway, Doo Wop to Rock & Pop, tribute shows, and everything in between.
Showtime is 7:30 PM on Wednesday through Sunday evenings unless otherwise noted.



Our regularly scheduled weekly train. Enjoy a relaxing 90 minute train ride from West Chester to Glen Mills and return. Pack a lunch to have during our stop at the Glen Mills train station picnic grove, where you can explore our picnic area, our 1880s station building, or the Red Brick Winery.




Children of all ages are welcome to sit and listen, ask questions, doodle, draw, paste, and color to their heart's content. (Accompanying adults are also welcome to get involved!)



Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park have adventures behind every corner. They are the ultimate indoor playground for your entire family. Take your kids' birthday party to the next level or spend a day of fun with the family, and you'll see why we're more than just a trampoline park.

Beat the Winter blues and stroll the State Street District to check out dozens of custom ice sculptures and other surprises.
Artists from the world-famous Ice Sculpture Philly company will create custom ice sculptures to be featured throughout the State Street District in downtown Media for the weekend. With live music, guest appearances, family activities, special libations and LIVE carvings, you won’t want to miss the frozen fun at this incredible and unique event. 



Linvilla Orchards Fore! The Planet is a highly interactive and playful museum exhibit created by the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia! 18 unique educational holes explore butterfly metamorphosis, a tropical rain forest, evolution, dinosaur extinction, food chains, and more. Perfect for kids of all ages, your entire family will enjoy playing miniature golf while learning about our environment – every step of the way!


This winter, there’s no better place to warm up—and chill out—than Longwood. Escape the chill and bask in the warmth of our beautiful new West Conservatory as it begins its peak flowering season. Relax amid lush, tropical gardens. Unwind as the soothing sounds of water transport you to another world. Soak up the sun and leave your winter worries at the door.



Bundle up and enjoy winter on the farm at the Glice Skating Rink at Linvilla Orchards. This synthetic ice rink offers a smooth, ice-like skating experience in a charming outdoor setting, perfect for families, date nights, and winter outings. With winter lighting and a festive farm atmosphere, it’s a fun way to embrace the season, no matter the temperature!



A tidal wave of color is now washing over Adventure Aquarium! This completely new exhibit offers an immersive, colorful experience designed to engage and inspire, inviting guests to dive deeper into the colors and wonders of ocean life.




We’re very excited to return to Edgmont, PA, opening November 24th and running through February 2024. Conveniently located on Route 3,  just minutes from the Blue Route, West Chester, Newtown Square and a short drive from Philadelphia or The Main Line. You can expect a winter wonderland filled with fun for the whole family, including convenient on-site parking, festive music, lighting, video & decor, delicious food & beverages, and heated hospitality tents perfect for private parties.

Family Explorers: What’s Beyond the Fence? At Tyler Arboretum


Join PA Master Naturalist Dave Charlton for a fun and easy hike on the trails outside our deer fence. Explore the outdoors, discover fascinating plants and animals, and observe how nature transforms with the seasons. Perfect for little explorers, these walks are filled with surprises and are a great way to learn about the world around you. Bring the whole family and embark on an exciting nature adventure together! Pre-Registration Required


3 channels of family-friendly music playing on our wireless headphones. A variety of glow-related activities/stations in our Community Collab Space. Blackout curtains provided by The Friends of the Middletown Free Library. Registration is not required.

From January 11 to February 12, themed activities will allow Aquarium guests to explore the wonders of aquatic life while enjoying the world of Animal Crossing™: New Horizons. 



Explore paleontology’s final frontier in Ice Dinosaurs, the Academy’s exciting new special exhibit. Transport yourself to the Late Cretaceous period in the Arctic Circle, where dinosaurs actually lived year-round in extreme polar environments. This brand-new, immersive, and educational experience brings this era to life with animatronic dinosaurs, engaging stories, and real fossils, skeletons, and museum casts.

The Gingerbread Competition & Display at Peddler’s Village is a feast for the eyes with more than 100 creative and whimsical entries crafted by the public in different categories. The gingerbread entries will be on exhibit during shopping hours from November 15 through January 19, 2025 in the Visitor & Event Center. Admission is free.

10th Annual Summer Fun Jam in Paddock Park. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and hang out under all the shade trees.

Who doesn't love food—better yet, food from food trucks? We are partnering with local food trucks to bring you these food-tastic events at Linvilla! Along with delicious treats from the trucks, make sure you grab a beer in the Beer Garden! The atmosphere will be filled with music and fun for the whole family. You won't want to miss it!



The Broomall Fire Company is sponsoring the Majestic Midways Carnival for two weekends this Spring. The event will be held on the Broomall Fire Company fairgrounds located at North Malin Road & West Chester Pike in Broomall, PA. In addition to the various carnival rides, face painting, an escape room, games, and delicious treats will benefit the Broomall Fire Company. A good old-fashioned carnival is a great way to kick off warmer weather and some Spring time fun with family and friends while supporting your local volunteers!

Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR. Follow all of your favorite crack-a-lacking friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.



Held on our school grounds, Fairville's Fun Fair is especially great for families with toddlers, preschoolers, and young children. Enjoy pony rides, moon bounces, and cookie decorating. Dig for treasures in a giant sandpit, engage in age-appropriate arts and crafts, and even climb aboard a tractor! The Fun Fair also offers live entertainment. Delicious, healthy lunch fare will be available for purchase. 



Come see our sheep get their annual haircuts and participate in many of the steps used to turn wool into cold-weather clothing, including washing, carding, spinning, and dyeing! CPP is home to many heritage breed sheep, including Hog Island, Leicester Longwool, Horned Dorset, and Soay. 



Celebrate spring at our Butterfly Festival. This family-friendly event will include butterfly education, cotton candy, face painting, planting your own mini butterfly garden, listening to music, shopping, and having fun for the entire family.




Elmo’s Springtacular at Sesame Place is filled with furry fun and exciting events! Join in on the fun with an exciting lineup of meet-and-greets, music, magic, pirate adventures, and fireworks.



Thomas Dambo’s TROLLS: Save the Humans, with Imagine Exhibitions, is opening at the Philadelphia Zoo in February 2024! These six enormous Trolls are on a mission to inspire humans to take better care of Nature. Each has a unique story and is created using repurposed wood by the world's leading recycling artist. The Trolls believe rethinking how we live our daily lives will help save the planet for all animals, including humans, and they want to share their ideas with you.
