Enchanted Summer Day at Winterthur

Enchanted Summer Day

11:00 am-3:00 pm

Celebrate the beginning of summer with your family in Enchanted Woods! Have the fairies been at work? Come discover the Enchanted Woods' newest feature, the Upside-Down Tree! With its trunk reaching skyward and its arms gracing the ground, it makes a perfect home for the fairies who live inside.

11:15 am: Join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Upside-Down Tree.

After, meet Gary Smith, the landscape architect who worked with the fairies to design the Enchanted Woods.

Make garden-related crafts, enjoy music from the Brandywine Fiddlers of the Wilmington Music School, the strolling Celtic musicians Slyte of Hand, and Celtic dance performances by the McAleer School of Irish Dancing. Help decorate the garden's giant Bird's Nest with colorful ribbon, participate in a Maypole dance, and watch a hilarious Punch & Judy show with magic performed by Professor Horn!

Try old-fashioned games, delicious ice cream from Woodside Farms Creamery (addt'l $), face painting (addt'l $), and much more. It's sure to be a fun-filled day outside for the whole family.Members free. Included in all admission tickets. Please check-in/register first at the Visitor Center. Rain or shine event. Young guests are invited to come in their favorite fairy, wizard, troll, or pirate costumes to help imaginations soar. Event most appropriate for children ages 3 - 12.
