Are you looking for something different to do with the kids?  Want to have some family fun with your tweens/teens?  I may have found a solution for you.  A few weekends ago my family and I had the chance to check out Neverland Virtual Reality in West Chester.

What to Expect




Neverland Virtual Reality is located in the historic borough of West Chester. My first impression when I walked in was how clean and simple the space was.  There are stations along the walls, each has a monitor, computer, and headset for your adventure.  There was 4 of us trying out virtual reality. Our guide Sean was wonderful at checking us in and explaining how things would work.  Sean set one of my daughters up in her first virtual reality experience by going over the rules and what she needed to do.  He suggested she should try Richie's Plank Experience first, let's just say it was pretty funny watching her reaction.  It was cool because the screen at our station shows what she was seeing.






I enjoyed watching my family having so much fun that I even braved Virtual Reality, I was a little scared because I don't like things I can't control, but Sean assured me it was going to be ok and if I felt upset at any time he would get me out of the program.  I never needed his help and had a blast slicing fruit in Fruit Ninja, walking the Plank in Richie's Plank Experience and checking out Google Earth by exploring the Eifle Tower. My favorite part of Virtual Reality was seeing all the details in what I was viewing.  When I was playing Fruit Ninja, I really felt as if I had knives in my hands. I was afraid if anyone got too close to me while playing, I would hurt them.

Tips before you visit

- Park your car at the Bicentennial Parking Facility at 20 South High Street. It's a five-minute walk to Neverland Virtual Reality. 

- Virtual Reality is recommended for kids 6 and older

- Make reservations before you arrive


In Summary

My family and I had a blast at Neverland Virtual Reality. It was a great way to have some family time in our busy schedule.  It was even fun for mom and dad, there are usually not activities that are fun for every member of the family. 

Neverland Virtual Reality also hosts birthday parties, kids night out, team building and even summer camps.

All aboard the Pizza Express! Join us for a pizza party on the rails. Our train departs our Market St. station promptly at 6 PM and includes a pizza dinner with salad and drinks. There will be representatives from about 100 programs for all ages through high school ready to speak with families. The programs include residential, day, special needs, and sport camps; community service, travel, adventure, fine & performing arts, language immersion, computer, environmental, and pre-college programs; and many more. Many of the programs offer scholarships. The Fair is open to the public, with free admission, parking and a Summer Programs Guide with information about all the programs.

There will also be booths where families can gather information about the “Think S*A*F*E” program sponsored by the Chester County Sheriff’s Office and learn more about internet safety from the PA Attorney General’s Office. The Mommy’s Light Lives on Fund also will have a table to share information and sell their Mommy’s Light in the Kitchen cookbook in support of their services for bereaved families.
