The Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra presents a Spring Concert


The Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra presents 
a Spring Concert March 18 at 3pm





The Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra, with conductor Reuben Blundell, will present a Spring Concert on Sunday, March 18 at 3 PM at Upper Darby Performing Arts Center, 601 N. Lansdowne Ave, Drexel Hill. Tickets are $20, $17 for seniors, and $5 for students.  Music lovers ages 8 and up are invited to attend. The website address is www.udpac.org and the box office is number is 610.622.1189 for tickets and for more information about the concert. Parking is free.

Cellist Eliana Razzino Yang, an Irving Ludwig Youth Audition winner, will perform Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Rococo Variations. Eliana, who is 18 years old, lives in Philadelphia. She is a student of Amy Barston at Juilliard Pre-College in New York City and Yumi Kendall, Assistant Principal of the Philadelphia Orchestra.  She has performed solo recitals in London, Philadelphia, Helsinki, New York City, Paris, and Rome and has performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Eliana plays on a Joseph Panormo cello from 1810.

In addition to the Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations, the concert will also include: Antonin Dvorak: Symphony No. 9; From the New World.

Bringing ‘help and hope’ to children and families in the aftermath of recent hurricanes by rebuilding lives, homes, and communities




Hop on board the music train with Allison DeSalvo and the World of Song Band for the 13th Annual “Thanks & Giving” Children’s Benefit on Saturday, October 21st, in a day of fundraising for the “American Red Cross Hurricane Disaster Relief”, bringing ‘help and hope’ to families in the aftermath of the US and Puerto Rican hurricanes. Allison will sing her joyful music in a ‘pop up’ interactive concert from 11 – 11:30 AM, including songs from her award-winning CD, “Happiness Is All Around You”, accompanied by guitarist Derek Chafin and percussionist Joanna Justice. 

Before and after the program, from 9:30 – 12:30pm, children can create fun fall arts and crafts. This event invites ‘kids to help other kids’ in need by participating in these activities. All proceeds will be donated to support the ARC’s efforts in rebuilding the lives, homes, and communities of those affected. Geared for ages 2 – 7 yrs. All Welcome. Suggested donation for the concert and or crafts, $5 per person. 

The event will take place in downtown Swarthmore in collaboration with the Swarthmore Farmers Market. Concert in the amphitheater, if raining go into the Borough Building at 121 Park Ave.
