2021 Fireworks and 4th of July Celebrations in Delaware County and the Philadelphia Area

Below is a list of parades, events, and fireworks in the Delaware County area. Don't forget the Wawa Welcome America celebration in Philadelphia that includes a parade on July 4th, concerts, and outdoor movies. Click here for the calendar of events in Philadelphia.

Saturday, July 3rd

Aldan
Aldan’s Independence Day Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m.


The Bethel Township Parks and Recreation Board will be hosting its Annual Fireworks display on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021, at Bethel Springs Elementary School. The rain date for this event is Monday, July 5th. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for the event and are reminded that no alcoholic beverages or smoking are permitted. The display is set to begin at dusk and Mister Softee (Ice Cream) will be available for purchase. 


Norwood
Celebrate Independence Day with the Citizens of Norwood! Old fashioned fun with a parade and fireworks at dusk.


The parade begins at 10am at the Rosemont Business Campus and will follow the previously used route through our community.

Ridley Park’s annual Big Bang Fireworks at The Lake begins at dusk.   


Sunday, July 4th

Aston 
Independence Day Celebration will be on July 4th, behind Sun Valley High School.  The DJ begins at 7pm at fireworks begin around 9:15pm

Clifton Heights

Parade at 10am. Fireworks will be held at Clifton Heights Athletic Field (Springfield Road and Sycamore Avenue), with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. (Raindate July 5th)


4th of July Parade starts at 9 am at Nazarene Church Parking lot

(Raindate July 11th)
The parade starts at 12pm beginning at Mac Dade and Ashland, ending in the park. 

Lansdowne 
The Union Athletic Association of Lansdowne presents the annual Independence Day parade featuring marching bands, antique cars, decorated bikes, and floats. The route starts at 9 am on July 4th at East Greenwood.  Fireworks begin at 9 pm


Monday, July 5th

Come out and watch the parade on July 5th starting at 10 AM. The parade starts at St. Alban's Circle in Newtown Square and travels down West Chester Pike to the Broomall Fire Company. 

Thornbury Township
Thornbury will hold its Annual Fourth of July Parade, on July 5th. Parade along Glen Mills Road to Thornbury Park. Refreshments and games at the park. Formation begins 9:30 am at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Parade begins at 10:00 am

Parades and Celebrations


Aston
Monday, May 27th at 10am

The Green Ridge Memorial American Legion Post #926 will hold the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27. The parade will begin at the Village Green Shopping Center on Concord Road at 10 a.m. and will proceed down Concord Road to the American Legion Post #926. Memorial services will be held at the front of the Post building shortly after the arrival of all parade participants.


Radnor
Memorial Day celebration. ALL military veterans are welcome to march! Monday, May 27th at 9:45 AM (Rain or Shine)


Media Memorial Day Parade 
Monday, May 27th at 10 AM 

Upland Borough
The parade will start at Upland Baptist Church on Monday, May 27th beginning at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at the War Memorial located at Bristol Lord Field (6th & Main Streets).


Marple Memorial Day Parade
Starts at West Chester Pike and Malin Road
Monday, May 27th

Fireworks


Upland Fireworks
Sunday May 26th at Dusk


Fireworks will be held at dusk overlooking Bristol Lord Field (located at 6th & Main Streets). Borough Roads surrounding the area will be closed beginning at 7:00 p.m. until the Fireworks are completed. All are welcome!

Sesame Place

May 26th at 9:00 PM

The night sky will sparkle at Sesame Place, with a spectacular fireworks show, set to Sesame Street music, making the festivities on Memorial Day weekend truly memorable. Fireworks will begin at 9pm. 
To Philly with Love—May 26 at 9:15 pm

Come Rock Around the Clock, do The Twist, and Raise Your Glass along to songs inspired by and performed by artists with strong ties to Oh, What A Beautiful City— our beloved Philadelphia.

Penns Landing
Saturday, May 25th at  8p.m.

On Saturday, May 25, guests can enjoy a concert and fireworks at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing. The Full Spectrum Band,  a “pop and hip-hop” band comprised of active duty Air Force members, performs at 8 p.m., then a brilliant fireworks show above the Delaware River takes place at 9:30 p.m. The events are free and open to the public, so plan to arrive early to get the best view.

Tinicum Township Community Day and Health Fair



Tinicum Township will celebrate its annual Community Day 1-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 on the riverfront at Governor Printz Park. The rain date will be Sunday, Nov. 25.


The celebration will be preceded by a 5K walk/run at 12 noon. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. in the park. Registration is $25 and all proceeds will benefit Cancer vs. Cancer and a few Tinicum families who are struggling with medical bills.


The day will also feature a health fair, with free flu shots for Tinicum Township residents from 1-3 p.m. Everyone must have an ID to get the shot. There will be a variety of other health care providers on hand, sharing resources and information.


The day’s activities will include vendors from:


Tinicum Farmers Market
a moon bounce
live music
crafts to make
food, beer and wine
Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with the children at 3 p.m.
face painting
fire company and police department equipment demos,
auction table
lawn games
Christmas ball and Christmas stocking decorating,

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be held at dusk, followed by a fireworks display.

Saturday, June 23rd

Glenolden POSTPONED TO SUNDAY JUNE 24th
Our yearly fireworks show is set for June 23rd (rain date June 24th). Music and games start at the Interboro Baseball Field at 7 p.m.
The fireworks show is scheduled to go off at dusk (shortly after 9 p.m.).


Saturday, June 30th

YachtStock RiverJam Fireworks
Fireworks this year are held as part of the Yachtstock RiverJam event. RiverJam lasts from noon to 10 pm and includes 50 bands at 3 venues, plus a car show, vendors, food, and family fun. Proceeds benefit Shriners Hospitals Philadelphia and other local charities. Tinicum Fireworks start at 9:30




Tuesday, July 3rd


Bethel Township Presents July 4th Fireworks at Bethel Springs Elementary School. The show starts at dusk. Residents are encouraged to carpool and arrive early. Parking is very limited at BSES at Bethel Community Park. No smoking, alcohol, or pets. Rain date: July 5th

Norwood

Fireworks at dusk on July 3rd.  Parade, sporting contests and refreshments beginning at 8:30 am on Tuesday, July 4th. The parade starts at Interboro High School and ends at the Upper Park.

Upper Darby
Join friends and family to celebrate Independence Day at Upper Darby Township’s premier fireworks show! But this is much more than just fireworks! The event kicks off with performances by the popular Philadelphia band Chico’s Vibe and the Upper Darby Summer Stage Shooting Stars.

The display will take place at the Upper Darby High School Memorial Stadium behind the high school. The address is 601 N. Lansdowne Ave. in Drexel Hill. Gates open at 7 pm and admission is $4. The fireworks display will begin at dusk. Children under 5 are free and tickets are sold only at the gate. Parking is free. The event rain date is Friday, July 6.

Radnor Garrett Hill Parade will be July 4th. Opening ceremonies of the parade are at 10:45 a.m. at Clem Macrone Park.

Radnor
The annual Radnor Township July 4th Fireworks will take place at the Radnor High School fields on King of Prussia Road. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at dusk. The stands will be open, or you can bring a picnic basket and chairs and sit on the field. Tickets can be purchased in advance. 



Thornbury Township

The Bethel Township Parks and Recreation Board invites our residents to celebrate the Fourth of July with a display of fireworks. The fireworks will be launched from the Francis Harvey Green School site beginning at 8:00 PM. Parking will be available, but limited, at the Bethel Elementary School and Bethel Community Park on Foulk Road.

Monday July 3rd

Norwood

Live Band and Fireworks start at 7:00 on Monday, July 3rd at the lower Park. Parade, sporting contests and refreshments beginning at 8:30 am on Tuesday, July 4th. The parade starts at Interboro High School and ends at the Upper Park.

The State Champion Sun Valley High School Marching Vanguards will have the concession stand open at the high school football fields to sell food and refreshments. For those parking on the other side of the street, the Aston Township Fire Department will also be selling food and refreshments as well as glow necklaces.

Upper Darby celebrates America’s Birthday with Blackthorn Concert & Fireworks

Celebrate America’s birthday in Upper Darby Township with the annual fireworks and concert by the one and only Blackthorn. The night will kick off with one of Delco’s favorite bands, Blackthorn, a high octane modern Celtic band that plays contemporary Irish music at its best. The celebration will continue with the Upper Darby Summer Stage Shooting Stars, a high-energy show choir that has traveled the East Coast performing in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, D.C. and also at Walt Disney World. The night will culminate with the Delaware County’s best fireworks show that will light up the sky with a blaze of colors and patterns.

Saturday July 4th

Adventure Aquarium Independence Day Splash

Join us on July 4th from 6:30 – 9:30 pm for our annual Independence Day Splash, an evening of fintastic patriotic fun for the whole family! Explore our 8,500 animals and exciting exhibits, including our all-new Hippo Haven experience, 40 foot shark tunnel through the largest collection of sharks on the East Coast, sea turtles, and more. Plus throughout the evening, enjoy themed activities including stilt walkers, a DJ Dance Party, special guests, free patriotic takeaways and more.

Then cap off the night with a stellar view of the region’s largest fireworks display – the Adventure Aquarium Waterfront Fireworks Spectacular on the Delaware River Waterfront, a stunning show of color and sound overlooking the Philly skyline.

The route starts at 9 am on July 4th at East Greenwood & Wycombe Avenues, continues along Wycombe to Stewart, then north on Lansdowne Avenue to Essex, where it heads east to the Penn Wood High School field for prizes, awards, and games.


Marple Newtown
Come out and watch the parade on July 4th starting at 10 AM. Parade starts at St. Alban's circle in Newtown Square and travels down West Chester Pike to the Broomall Fire Company. Stop by the fire house for free refreshments such as hot dogs, pretzels and bottled water. 

Media 

The Media Recreation Commission will hold a fun morning at Barrall Field on State and Edgemont streets starting at 10 a.m – 12:00 pm.on July 4th


Narberth 4th of July Program
 Join us on Saturday July 4th as we celebrate Independence day in the best little town ever of Narberth! Daytime activities start at 10:00am with game, music, great food, and great company! Check it out! And of course you don't want to miss out on the best Fireworks on the Mainline! Our fireworks are free! We only suggest you make a donation in one of our collection buckets!

Parade starts at 9:00am.  Springfield High School West Leamy Avenue to Powell Road, left on Powell Road to Saxer Avenue, left on Saxer to Springfield Road, left on Springfield Road to Memorial Park.
