Tröegs Independent Brewery

We are always looking for fun new places to share with our followers, and recently, we were in the Hershey area. We found a place less than 5 minutes from Hershey Park called Troegs Brewery. The brewery has a snack bar and a tasting room. I loved it when we walked in. They had a sign stating that kids are welcome! When you hear snack bar, you think hot dogs and chips, but not here. They have duck confit, braised short ribs, and salmon. They also serve salads, grilled cheese, and pretzels. The setup is self-serve; waiters and waitresses can take your drink order. For a brewery, the food was surprisingly delicious.

After lunch, we headed over for a brewery tour; they offer tours that last about an hour. I suggest booking a reservation online. Kids can not do the tour because you need to be 21 to tour. Our tour guide's name was John, and he was so informative. He took the time to talk with us and explain the beer-making process. This was the first tour I ever had for beer. I have only gone on wine tours in the past. I have a new found respect for the process of beer-making. Of course, the best part of the tour is the end, when you get to try a few of their beers. Our favorite was Lollihop, and we purchased a case to bring home.

Troegs Brewery has indoor and outdoor seating, making it an excellent choice for families visiting Hershey Park or those taking a day trip to the area. It's the perfect place to relax after a long day of riding rides at the park. And you want to relax after riding rides all day or even if you're going to take a trip up to the area for a day trip.
