StARR Celebrates National Model Railroad Month

Sunday, November 2nd
  1 PM to 4 PM

StARR, (St. Alban’s Railroad,) will kick off National Model Railroad Month by hosting a special open house on Sunday, November 2, from 1 PM to 4 PM. Best time to visit is between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

StARR has often been termed the "most kid friendly" model railroad group in the greater metropolitan area because the club offers hands on displays. "Thomas the Tank Engine" operates here ! Members sometimes offer visiting kids an opportunity to "operate" on the railroad. StARR also operates the "Hogwart's Express" complete with British whistle, so feel free to bring the kiddies! Some of the club's most regular visitors (along with their parents) frequently spend the entire afternoon.

Kids Pajama Yoga at Borough Hall in Media

May 12, 2012
 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm

Parents, drop your kids off with me in the Parlor Room at Borough Hall in Media and head down to State Street to enjoy Second Saturday events. Kids, wear your pajamas and prepare for a fun evening of yoga. We will move our bodies, bending and stretching them into a series of different yoga poses. We will listen to fun music, play yoga games, do a craft, and end with relaxation. A small bedtime snack will be provided, so please disclose any food allergies. Ages 4 to 8. Cost is $10 per child. Because it is a drop-off situation, space is limited. Please register to ensure your spot.

Since we are heading into summer sooner than expected, I thought the sun would be a great topic for our May class. We will be hearing cultural sun myths and recreating the stories using yoga. We will also be learning Sun Salutations, playing games, and either coloring or crafting (I haven't decided yet.) We will be tapping in to our inner sun! Looking forward to it!
What to Bring/Wear: Yoga mats will be provided…bring your own if you have one. Dress in comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle.
