National Constitution Center Offers Back-to-School Special: Buy One Ticket, Get One Free


Back-to-school means new teachers, new friends…and new reasons to visit the National Constitution Center! Now through September 30, 2010, the Center invites visitors to buy one ticket and get one FREE (of equal or lesser value), to celebrate the end of summer and the start of the new school season.

With this special offer, visitors can clean out the summer cobwebs and freshen up on American history through the Center’s core exhibition, The Story of We the People, which tells the story of the U.S. Constitution through more than 100 interactive, multimedia features; the award-winning theater show “Freedom Rising;” and Signers’ Hall, which contains 42 life-size bronze statues of the delegates to the Constitutional Convention in 1787. In addition, visitors can enjoy Labor Day weekend activities from September 4-6; a Constitution Day celebration on September 17; the civic photography exhibition, Being “We the People,”: Afghanistan, America and the Minority Imprint, which is on display through September 26; and the world debut Art of the American Soldier exhibition, which opens on September 24.

Every Tuesday in August, the Delaware Museum of Natural History is partnering with Artisans' Bank to lower admission prices to just $1 per person during August Dollar Tuesdays. Visitors are invited to explore the wonders of the natural world at the Museum for just $1 on August 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31, courtesy of Artisans' Bank.

New this year, visitors can buy ice cream from Bruster's and hot dogs from Johnnie's Dog House on the outdoor patio to enjoy a family picnic. Bruster's will offer fun flavors like "Purple Dinosaur" and "Grasshopper," and Johnnie's will be serving "Diplodocus Dogs." A portion of the proceeds from the sale of ice cream and hot dogs will be donated to the Museum.

Admission includes entry to the special exhibit, Tree Houses, where families can discover tree-dwelling animals using sterescopic viewfinders, tracking clues, and sound.
