"Farm Days at Collen Brook Mansion"


"Farm Days at Collen Brook Mansion"

On a flowing creek nestled among several beautiful acres of land in Drexel Hill stands Collen Brook Mansion. Built in 1794, it is on the National Register of Historic Places. Join us on May 23 from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. for Farm Days. You can experience the following events:

sheep shearing

blacksmith

soap making

colonial games

horse grooming

colonial cooking

spinning

bee keeping

woodworking

There will also be tours of the mansion and grounds. Refreshments will be served. Admission for children is free. For adults a free will donation is requested. The mansion is located at the end of a lane off Mansion Rd and Marvine Ave. in Drexel Hill. For further information check out the Upper Darby Historical Society web site.

Upper Darby Performing Arts Center presents…


“The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”


The musical version of the Narnia story brought to the stage by the professional acting troupe, Theatreworks USA An enchanting musical production, “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe,” is based on C.S. Lewis’ adventure story about four children who accidentally enter the land of Narnia. It is brought to life on the stage by the professional touring troupe, Theatreworks USA. The one-time only performance takes place on Friday evening, December 18 at 7:30 pm.

Upper Darby Summer Stage Shooting Stars Holiday Show – “A Holiday to Remember”A high energy performance of songs and dances to get the entire family into the holiday spirit!
The Upper Darby Summer Stage “Shooting Stars” is a troupe of just over 30 talented young people who are selected by audition from more than 600 members of the Upper Darby Summer Stage program. The Shooting Stars Holiday Show features outstanding singing, exciting choreography and the energy and smiles of talented young people performing many of the holiday favorites! The Shooting Stars have performed throughout the country and region including Walt Disney World’s Magic Music Days, NBC10’s Live from Longwood Gardens Christmas special, Delaware County’s Rose Tree Summer Festival and much more. Upper Darby Summer Stage voted two years in a row “Best Theater Group in Philadelphia” on FOX 29, MyFOXPhilly’s Hot List!!

The Gift of Christmas” is a compilation of Christmas wisdom (traditional, biblical, and contemporary), songs, and dancing that direct our attention to the true meaning of Christmas. Audience members are certain to be familiar with the blend of traditional and popular music.


The audience can expect some popular holiday songs:

Christmastime Is Here (the old Peanuts classic)

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

O Holy Night

Hark the herald Angels Sing

Stille Nacht (Silent Night)

and many more


The bell choir will also be performing “Angels from the Realms of Glory” and “Away in a Manger.” The show will feature a nativity scene and an audience carol-sing as well.


Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children; guests are welcome to join us after the performance for a complimentary reception complete with hot chocolate and Christmas cookies.
