Tree House World

Looking for something different to do with the kids? Or a unique place to have a birthday party or a place for team building. Recently I had the opportunity to check out Treehouse World located on 14 wooded acres West Chester PA.

Tree House World was started by Dan Wright who builds dream tree houses for people. He took his love of tree houses to create a place where kids can play and explore. Kids can climb trees, and zip line through the trees

What to do at Treehouse World

Rock Climbing Trees- with some instruction and help from staff kids and adults can rock climb trees and ring the bell when they get to the top.

Trampoline Bounce- bounce away on a bungee assisted trampoline! The bungee can be adjusted for riders from 20 to 300 lbs.

Buccaneer Zip Line For KidsThe Buccaneer Zipline is a great first or second experience of zip lining. It is about 150′ long and moves at about 10-15 mph, which is about like riding a bike or a horse across the yard except that you’re flying through the air.

Archery Tag- a group activity that involves teamwork, tactical maneuvering, and lots of running around. Players use bows to shoot foam tipped arrows at each other and at targets, attempting to rack up the highest score and take home the glory!

Valley Creek Zipline Tour
Are you ready for an adventure?  A very fun experience at Tree House World is the zip line tour.  Guest can enjoy Chester County, PA’s only Aerial Zipline Adventure Course with Ziplines right off of Rt 202.  The Course includes 3 ziplines and 8 bridge crossings that take you high above the headwaters of the Valley Creek. The course takes about 90 to 120 minutes for the average group to complete.

My family had the opportunity to experience this fun adventure and they can't stop talking about how much fun they had.  Safety is their number one priority at Tree House World.  You start out at zip school where they explain how everything works and how to use the equipment.  Then you head out on the course. Your group will have 2 staff members to assist them on the course.
The course has various challenges like climbing on balance beams, swinging logs, rope bridge, and gliding through the air on the zip lines.

If you are looking for something fun and different to do with your family or even a unique birthday party than you need to check out Tree House World!

Philadelphia Belle - Great Idea for a Sweet 16

I was recently invited on a dinner cruise on the Philadelphia Belle, the new paddle wheel riverboat at Penn’s Landing. I didn’t know what to expect and my mind went immediately to dinner, boat and sea sickness. But I was very surprised about the elegance of the boat, the quality dinner that they offered and the smooth-as-glass ride this boat offered.

My husband and I pulled away from the dock at around 7:30 and before we knew it, drinks and dinner were also underway. The menu is inspired by their partner Stephen Starr Events. And from the appetizers to the Center-Cut- Filet the entire meal was very enjoyable.

The band started up and it was a little loud for my taste but, I noticed a group of about 15 girls getting up to dance. These girls were decked out in their best dresses and heels and they were having a blast as the band began to play today’s top 40 music hits. They then announced that it was Molly’s 16th birthday.

Since over-the-top sweet 16 parties seem to be popular these days, I think this would be a unique venue you might want to put on your short list. The riverboat, the dinner, great music and the party atmosphere seemed to really be a hit. I am not sure if this would be a budget buster or not but, it’s worth a look.

The Belle can also be a unique way for you to sneak off for some time with your husband or wife, escape from the everyday restaurant atmosphere and have a good time close to home. On a warm summer night, strolling the decks of the Belle would be quite romantic.

Here is some more information about the Belle:

Christened as the Mississippi Belle II in 1994, our four-deck, paddlewheel-style riverboat operated on its namesake river for much of her early career. After undergoing extensive $2 million remodeling, the new Philadelphia Belle will cruise upon the Delaware River from her new home port of Penn’s Landing, between Chestnut and Market Streets, in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Belle is the largest vessel of its kind on the East Coast. The top deck is open, with three enclosed decks below where guests can enjoy first-rate entertainment, delicious food and beverages, and original artworks—all inspired by the best of Philadelphia. Total passenger capacity is 1,000 guests, with seated dining space available for approximately 700.

The Philadelphia Belle’s stern-mounted paddlewheel and classic lines recall the majestic riverboats that plied the Mississippi River during their heyday from the 1800s to the early 1900’s. Interestingly enough, John Fitch began operating a paddle steamboat service on the Delaware River from Philadelphia to Burlington, New Jersey in 1788.
