Admission only $1 to Delaware Museum of Natural History
during Artisans' Bank August Dollar Tuesdays

Every Tuesday in August, the Delaware Museum of Natural History is partnering with Artisans' Bank to lower admission prices to just $1 per person during August Dollar Tuesdays. Visitors are invited to explore the wonders of the natural world at the Museum for just $1 on August 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31, courtesy of Artisans' Bank.

New this year, visitors can buy ice cream from Bruster's and hot dogs from Johnnie's Dog House on the outdoor patio to enjoy a family picnic. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of ice cream and hot dogs will be donated to the Museum.

Tree Houses at the Delaware Museum of Natural History

Recently Fun Things had the opportunity to check out Delaware Museum of Natural History's new special exhibit Tree Houses. This cool exhibit will run through September 6th. Visitors can step inside an indoor tree house to discover hands-on activities that explore the many habitats trees provide for creatures large and small -- and people, too.

As you enter the tree house kids can look for signs of the animals that call the tree home. Kids and adults will love the wobbly bridge that you cross to enter the second tree house. My kids loved the forest sounds dance floor were you can move your feet to create forest sounds. After the kids have explored the tree house they can turn a tree into a house by scrolling through a film or build their own tree house using wooden building sticks.

WHAT: Tree Houses: Explore an indoor tree house and discover arboreal animals using stereoscopic viewfinders, tracking clues, natural artifacts, and sound. Sponsored by DuPont.

Field Trip Video - Attack of the Blood Suckers

Fun Things recently got to take a personal tour of the new "Attack of the Blood Suckers" exhibit at the Delaware Museum of Natural History located in Delaware only a few miles from the PA border. The exhibit opens on February 20th and runs through May 16th. This fun, informative and interactive exhibit was a great way to spend the afternoon on a cold day. I really liked how kids of all ages and even adults can get a hands on chance to learn more about creatures that drink blood.

Here are some video highlights of our tour. This is the first video for Fun Things and hopefully you will see some more!
