Halloween may look a little different this year.  Here are a few ideas on different ways to have fun this Halloween.

    

Halloween Movie Night

Make some yummy snacks and pick out some Halloween favorites to watch as a family.

Neighborhood Decorating Contest

Get a group of neighbors together to decorate their houses.  Then walk through the neighborhood and pick your favorites.

Family Jack- o- lantern contest

Gather crafting supplies that you have around the house and decorate pumpkins.  Select a theme to add some more fun.

Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Make a list of items for the kids to find in the house and see who can find them the fastest.


Halloween Egg Hunt

Hide wrapped candy in the yard before it gets dark and then have the kids use flashlights to find the treats.

The kids are back to school and cooler weather is on the way. There are plenty of hayrides, apple festivals, pumpkin picking, and much more fall events happening in the area this fall.

Join Longwood for a nighttime adventure across a magical landscape transformed by light, movement, color, and original music. 



September 10th through November 6th

An annual trip to Pumpkinland has been a family tradition for generations of Delaware Valley Residents. During the months of September and October, Pumpkinland takes center stage at Linvilla Orchards. Larger than life figures and scarecrows illustrate the legends and lore of the harvest season, local history and some of the many stories of pumpkins and apples.







Now through November 5th

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm is a 15-acre farm located in Lancaster, with 50+ Farm Fun activities, including the Hay Chute Slide and Straw Bale Racer, Jump Pillow, Farm Tour Wagon Ride, Petting Zoo and Farm Experience Center, Corny’s Ball-cade, and everyone's favorite the Corn Maze.


September 24 & 25, 2016

Linvilla Orchards Apple Festival honors apples every autumn. This legendary festival could not properly be celebrated in just one day! This two-day event is hosted by Makin’ Music. Pick Your Own Apples are during the height of their season and you can choose from the many varieties grown right here at Linvilla. You won’t want to miss our Apple Pie Eating Contest for bushels of fun!


September 17th -November 1st

Visit Pumpkin Garden where your kids will love the pillow bounce, moon bounces the brand new barn bounce and pumpkin jump. Have a blast with the corn cannon. Mine for gems at our all new gem mining experience. Visit with the animals at the Petting Zoo. With train rides, pedal carts, hay bale mazes, and more the kids are sure to have fun! But the fun doesn’t end there! Take a hayride down to the Pumpkin Patch to pick your own pumpkin. Or see if how quickly you can find your way through the 5-acre corn maze.





September 23rd -October 30th

Linvilla Orchard's famous Hayride to the Witches’ House is a hayride to visit the friendly Witches’ House in the woods. The witch tells stories and jokes and gives all of the kids a treat. The hayride ends at a campfire where you receive a sample of apple cider and marshmallows to roast.



October 22, 23, 29, & 30

Philadelphia Zoo is adding a little green to your Halloween with the return of Boo at the Zoo!
Enjoy festive fall offerings available for purchase throughout the Zoo: hot apple cider, reusable Boo at the Zoo trick-or-treat bags and much more!
Set out on a Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt and discover your favorite animals in the form of life-size scarecrows!


September 23rd -October 31st

For 25 years, the Haunted Hayride at Arasapha Farm has been scaring its visitors with amazing props, digital FX, great actors and extraordinary professional makeup. The Haunted Hayride is a 25 minute, action packed, heart pounding ride through the dark forest of Arasapha Farm.

September 24th - November 6th

Hayrides, Corn Maze, the Pumpkin Patch and all other attractions return on Sept. 24th. 
The Secret Agent Corn Maze -- Journey into a world of intrigue and espionage.  From the Cold War to James Bond, the world's nations play the dangerous game of misdirection and double agents.  Maze design includes iconic imagery from spy movies.


September 24th - October 30th

Every Weekend in the Fall. Activities including 
    Face paint, Scarecrow building (we provide clothes and hay, you assemble and can take home , Sand art, KidKorral and Hayrides  


October 22-24, 2016

Watch local artists carve huge pumpkins (5-9PM). See candle-lit carved pumpkins Fri.-Sat (5-9PM). All Three nights of family fun, food, live music and hayrides!


November 18th -20th

Climb aboard our larger-than-life steam train and enjoy a 45-minute, round-trip ride through the tranquil Amish countryside to Paradise, PA and back. Marvel at more than 1,000 acres of farm fields as they pass by your window.

Everyone’s a kid again when it comes to Halloween horrors and freaky fun! Bring the family for another one of Media’s ‘monster’ street festivals. 

October 26, 2016 at 7pm

Enjoy the costumes, the kids, and the fun starting at 7pm for the West Chester Halloween Parade in downtown West Chester. Parade gathers on Market Street between Church & Darlington and continues down Market and up Gay Street.

October 15th -16th
Celebrate the season with Tyler’s Pumpkin Days celebration. Enjoy two days of family fun with music, games, crafts and more! With stilt-walker-extraordinaire Samantha Hyman, face painting, balloon animals, and haunted tree houses there’s something for everyone.

Bugs and Other Creepy Crawlies Slither in for 
Bug-a-Boo & Goo on October 20 and 21 

Families can put on their costumes to celebrate Halloween with bugs and other creepy crawlies at the Delaware Museum of Natural History's spooky (but not-so-scary) celebration Bug-a-Boo & Goo on Saturday, October 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 21 from 12 - 4:30 p.m. Family-friendly activities shed light on the ooey, gooey world of nature's creepiest creatures with games, puppet shows, live animal demonstrations, a pumpkin judging contest, crafts, and more. Schedule of activities:

Saturday, October 20
  • Encounter live rainforest animals from the Philadelphia Zoo.
  • Observe an owl pellet dissection and guess what the bird ate for dinner.
  • See live animals from the Museum including millipedes, hissing cockroaches, and tarantulas.
  • Watch an imaginative puppet show about owls, raccoons, and other creatures of the night.
  • Learn how to make your own slime.
