THE GREAT DUBOIS, the two-person circus act that was showcased in the movie The Greatest Showman is coming to West Chester University for one performance only on Friday, November 4 at 7 p.m. Tickets are now on sale to the public at www.wcupatix.com or 610.436.2266. The performance will take place in the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, Philips Memorial Building, 700 S. High Street, West Chester.

Hailed as a fast-paced high energy circus show for all ages, The Great DuBois act includes juggling, hula hoops, unicycle, aerial, circus stunts, contortion, magic, and audience interaction all wrapped in a blanket of comedy. In addition to being featured in The Greatest Showman, The Great DuBois has also been seen in the hit Broadway show Pippin, and on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with David Letterman, among others. The Great DuBois is made up of Michael DuBois and Viktoria Grimmy, who have five generations of circus performing experience between them.

The Great DuBois is being presented as part of the University’s WCU Live! performance series. The remaining WCU Live! season includes: Erin Brockovich will speak as part of the President’s Speaker Series on Saturday, March 11 at 8 p.m.; Rhythm of the Dance on Tuesday, March 14 at 7 p.m.; and Tamagawa University Taiko Drumming and Dance on Tuesday, April 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets for all of these event are also on sale at www.wcupatix.com.

Just Between Friends Consignment Sale

September 8-11

Do you have baby/children’s clothes, toys, and furniture that have been outgrown? Do you want to get rid of them and earn extra cash? If so, Just Between Friends is right for you.

Anyone can consign during this semi-annual event. Just register online, tag your items before the day of the sale using their online tagging system, and then drop them off at the sale. JBF does the rest.

Consignors make 60% of their sales.

You set your own price and decide if your item is discounted during half-price days.

The fee to consign is only $12.

Consignors are required to have a minimum of 20 items $100 worth of items.

With the online bar-coding system (www.myjbftags.com), it is easy to enter your tags and print them off.

You will then be able to track your sales during the event

They accept seasonally appropriate clothing items during the sales as well as toys, books, and furniture.

If you don’t want to consign, you can shop for great deals on quality items.

Wed. 9/7 9a-9p (ticket required)

Thu., 9/8: 9a-6p (ticket recommended)

Fri., 9/9: 9a-7p,

Sat., 9/10 9a-7p (ticket required after 3pm)

Shopping Tips and Information

Wear comfortable shoes so you can get good deals quickly.
Bring your child's measurements and a tape measure to check the items you are buying.
We prefer Cash but also accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
Children are welcome during the public shopping hours however it gets very busy. If possible, we recommend getting a babysitter so you can enjoy your shopping experience.
We have a holding area and extra-large shopping bags for your convenience.
We are unable to allow children to play with the toys at the sale. Items are the property of consignors, and if they are broken or separated, they cannot be sold.

I participated in many Just Between Friends sales, and it really is a convenient way to de-clutter your house. I sold a ton of my girl’s clothes and even two strollers. What I really loved was that you could check exactly what was sold through the JBF website. Even as a shopper, I loved some of the great deals I scored when I shopped the JBF consignment sales.

The Nutcracker at Upper Darby High School

Upper Darby School District and The Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet present: The Nutcracker. Shows will be on November 19 at 7PM November 20 at 11AM & 3PM

Brookhaven's Holiday Parade

Saturday, November 20th beginning at 2:00 pm, is Brookhaven's Holiday Parade honoring our healthcare workers. We're excited to share that we will have a special guest appearance from Dann Cuellar, 6 ABC Action News at the Grand Stand! The parade begins at Our Lady of Charity Church and ends at Coebourn Elementary School. At Coebourn, we’ll have delicious treats for sale from Auntie Anne's Food Truck, The West Branch Baking Co., and Real Church. Visit the Christmas Village and feel free to snap pictures of the kids with Santa next to Santa’s fireplace and Christmas tree.

Gingerbread Competition & Display at Peddler's Village

A holiday tradition at Peddler’s Village since 1984, the Gingerbread Competition and Display is a feast for the eyes with more than 75 creative and whimsical entries in these categories: NEW! Holiday on Wheels, Traditional, Authentic Reproduction Around the World, 3-D, Movie or TV Set, Winter Wonderland, Student, and Kids Only. The Gingerbread entries will be on exhibit during shopping hours from November 19 through January 8, 2022. Admission is free.

Santa’s Paradise Express on the Strasburg Rail Road

A Christmas tradition since 1959, Strasburg Rail Road welcomes a very special visitor every November and December. That’s right, Santa himself will climb aboard the historic steam train to greet families as they travel down the tracks to Paradise, PA and back. As a special treat, children ages 11 and under will receive a gift from Santa and his helper during this nostalgic 45-minute steam train ride.
