“Fair to the Earth” Day Celebration

Join our friends from ‘earth friendly’Ten Thousand Villages in Media for a special interactive cultural program to celebrate Earth Day! Kids will sing songs, tap and chant rhythms with a variety of musical instruments in a ‘Grounding Music Circle’, ‘Plant’ a Bird Feeder and see an interesting DVD (for kids), that illustrates how to grow coffee and where chocolate comes from. The importance of many earth awareness concepts ~ Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, Sustainability and being “Fair” ~ will be emphasized in age appropriate ways. Educational coffee and cocoa kits will be on display too so that kids can see a real cocoa pod and beans.. Tasty chocolate samples will be on hand too

Fall into Fun Night and celebrate Autumn with special guest Diep Koly of Craftforia, a new crafting store opening in Swarthmore. Learn how to make simple shadow puppets to take home and hear a favorite classic fairytale using these handmade animal figures creating the magic of theatre. Also, Catherine Natter, Creative Dance teacher leads kids in some exploratory movement sharing the joy of self expression through dance. Geared for Ages 2 – 7. All Welcome. Come enjoy a variety of stories about people’s favorite pets and meet local veterinarian, Dr. Kathy Trow. Learn about ‘a day in the life of a vet’ and other fun facts about all creatures great and small. Dr. Kathy will bring a few small animals to talk about. Families are welcome to bring along small animals in a cages for a fun show & tell.

**Cats and dogs can trigger allergies and therefore should not be brought to this program.

An April Fool’s Jazz Concert for Kids

Calling all jokers and ‘silly beans’ to JAM along with Hot House Jazz Band! These three fantastic veteran local musicians, Eric Henry on tuba, Paul Butler on clarinet and Jim Smith guitar will have kids hopping and improvising with instruments and sounds in this fun filled family music time celebrating jazz. An April Fools Open Mic for all will follow the program.
