The Festival of Lights at Rose Tree Park




The Festival of Lights opens at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec.3rd, with a program of holiday music, guest speakers, refreshments, a visit from Santa Claus and the traditional lighting of the trees.




This year, the Festival is bigger and brighter with new lights, a Gingerbread house and train rides through the display during the first two weekends of entertainment.




The 2011 holiday scenes will include a  Gingerbread House, designed by Rosalie and Ham Morrall and constructed with assistance from Anne Cicala, plus a Victorian Village and the traditional Snoopy and Peanuts figures.




The Festival of Lights runs 5:30-9:30 nightly


Dec.3  through Jan. 31 in Rose Tree Park, Route 252, Upper Providence.


Free admission.

Haverford Township Day will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Activities will take place all day, beginning at 8:30 a.m. with our 5K Run through the township. The day's events conclude around 4:00 p.m.

Haverford Township Day takes place in the heart of Havertown, along Darby Road, with activities centered around the area between the police station at 1010 Darby Road and stretching to the Middle School at 1801 Darby Road. Havertown is located in Delaware County, and is approximately 5 miles from Center City, Philadelphia.

Garden Sprouts: Flowers in Winter

It’s not too early for flowers at the Arboretum. Join our search for the earliest flowers and then create a pretty flower arrangement to remind you spring is coming.

Designed to introduce children to the world of plants and gardens, these programs for children ages 4-5 can include stories, crafts and hands-on fun with plants. Children must be accompanied by an adult; fee is for the child only.
