What do you love about winter?..the snow, ice skating, sledding, hot chocolate? In the warmth of TCLR enjoy wintry stories told with photographic images, a scavenger hunt and “show and tell” with your own picture exhibition.
Bring a photo from home to display (optional) and share about. Cocoa and cookies after the program.

The Evolution of Hip-Hop

Don't miss this! Chosen Dance Company is coming to the Swarthmore
Public Library to perform and teach. Discover the evolution of
Hip-Hop from the 1960's to present day. Past performances from this
talented group include the X-Games, Live Nation Concerts and 76ers
Halftime on the Concourse. Their performance will be followed by a
brief workshop where you can learn to dance!

This program is free and open to the public. It will be held at the
Swarthmore United Methodist Church next door to the Swarthmore Public

Taiko Drumming * Kamishibai Storytelling * Sakura Songs and Dances * Origami

Kyodaiko 3“Kyo Daiko”, Philadelphia’s first premier community taiko drumming ensemble or “kumi daiko” will perform drumming music combining driving rhythms with choreographed movements to create an exciting visual and musical spectacle that you can see, hear AND feel with audience participation! Share in the beauty of Japanese culture with this live music, and also traditional kamishbai storytelling, sakura songs and dances, and origami arts and craft activities. Kids will have a chance to play the drums in this interactive enrichment program for the whole family fostering learning and awareness.

Join our ‘Creative Kids Yoga’ teacher, Jeanne Murtha, to learn simple yoga poses and postures that sooth, balance and calm before bed. The program will include a children’s story and a quiet introduction to meditation as we honor a moment for peace. Suitable for kids 3-10 years old. Parents and children come dressed to move.

In its 8th season, Peter Bruckner, of Marionette Theater of the Stars, brings another enchanting chapter in this magical family holiday series about the adventures of a beloved Elf called Fumblefingers. Last year Fumblefingers left the North Pole to vacation on a far away island in search of a secret treasure chest with sleigh and reindeer in tow. What tricks is he up to this year? Come join the fun of finding out! Back by popular demand, Peter Bruckner, storyteller and puppeteer extraordinaire, performs this original tale in the style of the Comedia del’ art with an ensemble of delightful characters, Santa Claus, his friends Fret, Zimberlina the Icing Fairy, and even a sugar plum fairy or two in this theatrical,program with live music. Children can come dressed up to sing and dance with the puppets celebrating the holidays with merriment and joy!

Accompanied by guitarist Charlie Phillips, Allison performs a lively interactive concert of traditional, original and international songs using instruments, puppets, make believe, and art to create an innovative music program for the whole family!

Allison DeSalvo is a popular children’s entertainer, and the founder/director/teaching artist of World of Song Productions and the Music, Art & Me Program, which has been bringing music concerts and classes to young children in NY and PA that nurture creativity and an appreciation of the arts since 1992.
