The first concert locally was in 2005 and every year support for the event has grown. The concerts in Swarthmore have raised funds for the Red Cross for Katrina victims, St. Jude's cancer research, Art Reach bringing the arts the underserved and this year Rubye's Kids. All proceeds from this year's concert will be donated to Rubye's Kids, a small grass roots organization, named after Ruby Caesar, who many years ago began helping kids in her community from what little she had. Since her death in 1994, Ruby's legacy has continued through the organization by serving underprivileged and homeless children and families in shelters in the Philadelphia area by providing them with an annual Holiday Party, necessary school supplies, birthday parties and abundance of love and care that they might otherwise not receive.
